Catfish

Truth be told, I have always wanted to be Catfished. Maybe I am naïve, but, I feel confident I could have figured it out easily and just mess with him. I mean, all of the Dr. Phil episodes I have watched would most definitely pay off. My strategy has always been to like all profiles that appear to have “stock” photos, but, it has never happened.

Wouldn’t you know, it did happen with my friend this week. Lucky! She sent me the exchange below and said I could use this valuable content. Here goes:

For starters, this guy sent the below message to THREE women. He didn’t even bcc them. You already know you are working with someone who isn’t playing with a full deck with that rookie mistake.

Charming, huh? So heartfelt. One mistake, my friend hadn’t even communicated with this guy. So, she sent the below message. Shots fired.

My love. Let’s get married right away. I cannot stand to be apart from you for one more moment. I can’t sleep. I think of you every moment.

He responds: How’s your time going? write me on hangouts and let’s communicate well on how I’ll be home immediately

She responds: You’re coming home!? Yay. So excited to see you. Which airport will you fly into? I’m so excited my love. You have made my night. I feel like bozo. So elated!! 💋

I guess bozo is a good thing? LOL! My friend now wants to be sure she is protecting the other people on the email. So, she sends this warning to the other women.

I hope you all know this guy is a scammer. The “UN doctor” is a well know cat fishing scheme. English is not his first language. Can’t believe he is still contacting me. Be warned! One of the ladies replies:

Yes blocked and reported him thank you though!!!!

One would think that perhaps he is aware that my friend is on to him. Nope, he then follows up with the below email:

Lesson learned? Find a legit person who completes you. And, be sure to report these people on whatever dating site you met them on. There must be people who fall for it or they wouldn't do it! Help your fellow dater out.
